National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is a national endeavor to promote education, action, and awareness about hunger and homelessness. COTS is sponsoring this important effort in Burlington.
Bring America Home; A National and State Perspective on Homelessness
A Speaker’s Panel featuring Donald Whitehead, Executive Director of the National Coalition for the Homeless; Rita Markley, Executive Director of COTS; Jerry Weinberg, owner of Five Spice Café; and Bob Duncan of Duncan-Wisniewski Architecture.
Wednesday, November 19th - 12:00 pm FREE - First Congregational Church, Burlington
Join local and national experts as they discuss the complex issue of homelessness and what can be done to make a lasting difference. Speakers who have experienced homelessness themselves will talk about life on the streets, while policy makers and housing developers will discuss innovative solutions to ending homelessness nationally and here in Vermont.

Children’s Art Show at the Fletcher Free Library
Children from area shelters display their work all month at the Fletcher Free Library. The artwork is done by children who let their imaginations flow. Often the thoughts of home, comfort and love are what they most express in these beautiful pieces.
Special Storytime about "Home" at the Fletcher Free Library
Thursday, November 20 - 10:00 am
The Fletcher Free Children’s Library will offer a special storytime in recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Week. Kids will listen to stories about “home” and work on a special project. Contact the Fletcher Free Library for more details - [802] 865-7216.
